Car-Free Sundays at Ayala Avenue is widening the ways people can move. Two new court activations have been rolled out: a 3×3 basketball pop-up—first staged in June 2025 and returning on special runs only—and a pickleball court launched last Sunday, August 10, which is now available every Car-Free Sunday. The goal: make the open-streets program even more inclusive by adding social, accessible sports to the mix.

“Car-Free Sundays is about building a weekly habit of movement,” said Misha Quimpo, Project Development Manager from Ayala Land. “By adding courts, we’re giving people more ways to be active, whether that’s a quick game with friends or trying a new sport for the first time.”

TITAN Summer Jam 3×3 Basketball Tournament (June 2025)

Delivered in partnership with TITAN, the inaugural Summer Jam 3×3 Basketball Tournament run drew 16 teams and 60 participants aged 14–19. The youth-centered format advances Ayala Land’s objective to promote sports for young people, with future editions set to open additional age brackets. The activation also showcased the versatility of Ayala Triangle Gardens as an events and warm-up spillover space, underscoring how the district seamlessly hosts fitness and community programming.

Availability: The 3×3 court returns on select Car-Free Sundays only; dates will be announced in advance.

The Garden Pickleball Series Launch (August 10, 2025)

Pickleball’s debut at the Car-Free Sundays at Ayala Avenue drew enthusiastic weekend regulars and sports and lifestyle influencers, such as Ms. Grand Int’l 2016 1st Runner-Up, Nicole Cordoves, and Ateneo Lady Eagles player, Dzi Gervacio, who helped introduce the game to first-timers. With easy-to-learn rules and social, low-impact play, the pickleball court will now be regularly available every Car-Free Sunday.

“We’re widening the menu of movement—from running and cycling to court sports—so people of different ages and fitness levels can find their fit,” Ms. Quimpo added. These are being done in time with the upcoming celebration of the second anniversary of Car Free Sundays at Ayala Avenue, happening on September 7.

Celebrate two years of movement and community as the anniversary edition will feature a fun run, more fitness activities, and a photo exhibit spotlighting portraits of real people who make Car-Free Sundays part of their week. Bring family, friends, and teammates—and be part of the story.
