(From L-R) National University of Singapore School of Business, Department of Real Estate Professor Ong Seow Eng presents the award to former AREIT CEO and current President and CEO of AyalaLand Offices, Carol T. Mills and former AREIT Investor Relations Head and current AyalaLand Offices Strategic Leasing Division Head Michael D. Garcia

It was a double triumph for AREIT at the prestigious 9th Annual REITs and Real Estate Investment Summit Asia Pacific 2024. AREIT secured the most coveted Platinum Award for Best Overall ESG & Profitability REIT in the Philippines. At the same time, its former President and CEO, Carol T. Mills, was awarded as Best CEO among REITs with over US$1 billion market capitalization, cementing Ayala Land’s position at the forefront of the country’s REIT sector.

The Best Overall ESG & Profitability REIT award honored REITs in the Asia Pacific that integrate ESG principles while maintaining profitability and setting a benchmark for the industry. Meanwhile, the Best CEO category recognized the exceptional leadership of CEOs who have successfully navigated their companies through economic uncertainties and sustainability imperatives. AREIT's win in these categories underscores the company's commitment to excellence and balancing environmental stewardship with robust financial performance.

The judging panel comprised senior financial and real estate professionals, with balanced representation from rating agencies, research houses, and advisory firms in different countries. The selection methodology was based on a combined scoring metric that considered ratings strength and stability, financial performance, and other relevant criteria.

Held in Singapore last October 3, 2024, with the theme "Profiting Through Sustainable Technology and Net Zero Imperatives," the 9th Annual REITs and Real Estate Investment Summit Asia Pacific 2024 brought together industry leaders and innovators to explore the intersection of sustainability, technology, and profitability in the real estate sector.

It featured expert-led panels, case studies, and interactive exhibits, providing a platform for industry professionals to exchange ideas on leveraging sustainable practices for higher yields and reduced operational costs.
