All-Star Match: A Showcase of Women’s Football Talent at Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub
November 12, 2023
Football has always been a sport that captivates audiences around the world. It unites people, transcends boundaries, and showcases the incredible talent of athletes. In recent years, women’s football has gained significant recognition and support, with the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Women’s League serving as the country’s top-flight league for both amateur and professional players. To celebrate the success and promote the growth of women’s football, Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub (AVSH) is proud to present the Women’s All-Star Match.

The Women’s All-Star Match at AVSH has several important goals to achieve:
Firstly, it aims to showcase the newly upgraded Football Pitch of AVSH as the designated training ground for national teams, university athletes, and professional clubs.
Secondly, it intends to present AVSH as a Training Camp option for Men, Women, and Youth National Teams.
Additionally, it seeks to promote the success of the Philippine National Women’s Team that represented the country in the highest and most prestigious football tournament in the world, FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Lastly, it plans to demonstrate AVSH’s value proposition by hosting an exhibition match of both amateur and professional players, providing them with the opportunity to personally experience the state-of-the-art facilities.
The PFF Women’s League, currently in its fourth season, serves as the premier league for women’s football players in the Philippines. The league features ten teams competing in a single round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the knockout stage to determine the league champion. All matches are usually held at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
The participating teams are Kaya Futbol Club (FC), Far Eastern University, Manila Digger, De La Salle University, Tuloy Football Club (FC), Nomads Football Club (FC), University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, Azzuri SC, and Stallion Laguna Football Club (FC).
One of the notable players taking part in the event is Hali Long, who is the Team Captain of both Kaya FC and the Philippine Women’s National Team who recently represented the country in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup team. Hali Long has played a significant role in the achievements of Kaya FC, which is considered the leading local club in the country.
The Women's All-Star Match will feature two teams, Team A and Team B, consisting of players chosen from the 10 teams participating in the ongoing PFF Women’s League. Six players were chosen from the top 4 teams while four players were chosen from the remaining six teams.
The exhibition match will follow the game format of the ongoing league, with two halves of 45 minutes each. In case of a draw, the match will proceed to a penalty shootout. The officiating will adhere to FIFA rules.
The players will be chosen based on their declared positions and placed in a ballot for the team selection process. One player will be declared the match MVP. The Women’s All-Star Match will take place on November 12, 2023, at the Football Field of Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub in Vermosa, Imus, Cavite.
